My name is Adrian Burden and I am from Morehead City, NC, and was saved in Junior Service at Grace Baptist Church where Pastor Clyde Eborn is the pastor even until this day. I grew up in the Christian school there and later God called me to preach at the age of 16 at The Wilds camp. At 17, God led me to Pensacola Christian College in ‘02 and graduated with my undergrad degree and ‘06; I stayed for my Masters of Biblical Expositon and completed it in May ‘08.
During my time in college I was a counselor at the Bill Rice Ranch for one summer, and after that incredible learning experience I began to travel as a youth evangelist during the summers doing Vacation Bible Schools across the country through the ministry of Truth Alive. During the school year, I also assisted a church planting ministry in Mobile, Al under Pastor Chester Keith for three years. After graduation, God laid an increasing burden still on my heart for the young people of whose lives I had been a part of for the past three years, therefore a friend of mine and I decided to travel independently doing Vacation Bible Schools across the country during the summer months in ‘08. God gave me the unique opportunity to be a Rock of Ages Missionary working in prisons and detention centers across the southeast.
Now God has led me to open up an evangelstic board called Burden Ministries. My heart is to reach the young people of our generation specifically, whether it is here or around the world. I will preach to whomever God grants me opportunity but my focus is with the youth. It is my desire to not only preach to them but also invest my life into them as well. Whatever resource or way there is to reach young people, by God’s grace I want to pursue it. God has opened the door for camp work here and overseas, vacation Bible schools, youth campaigns and conferences, revival services, back to school revivals, hosting mission trips, juvenile detention centers, public school ministry, overseas youth ministry and many other avenues whereby to invest my life into this generation.
My name is Tabitha Burden and I was saved at the age of 11 at our home on Beale Air Force Base in California. I made a profession of faith the previous year, but since I had doubts and questions in the months that followed about what I had done, I got the question of my eternal destiny settled that summer night at home.
For most of my childhood my father (who now pastors Bethel Baptist Church in Wilson, NC) was in the Air Force. As we moved around the country I was blessed to be able to attend Christian schools for all but two years of my schooling. After high school, I attended Pensacola Christian College and graduated in 2003 with a degree in Speech Communications. I stayed at PCC for graduate school and earned my Master's Degree in Interpretive Speech in 2005. I taught Speech at PCC while working on my Master's Degree and remained there another 2 years as a member of the Speech Faculty.
In 2007 I moved to Newport News, Virginia and took a job at a credit union, and soon became a manager there. It was the summer of 2009 that my relationship with Adrian began and we were married on January 2, 2010. When people ask me if I am called to the ministry, I let them know that I am called to whatever God has called my husband to. Long before I ever met Adrian, God called all wives to be helpmeets. I have always known that whether I married a man called to "Full Time" ministry or not, I would support and help him in whatever God gave him to do.
Our life’s ministry goal can be summarized as follows: To reach as many possible in one lifetime for the glory of God. It is quite the tall order, but “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” I Thess. 5:24
