BURDEN MINISTRIES is an evangelistic ministry that is commissioned and sent out by Grace Baptist Church of Newport, NC with the goal of reaching young and old alike through every avenue possible with the gospel, and to challenge the saved to surrender all to Christ.
VBS- This is commonly known as Vacation Bible School, which is an untapped resource in today's society. Many contnet themselves with having a program for the sake of having a program when in reality this could be a means of reaching out into a community and reaching families for Christ. There are teenagers whom I know personally that are still faithful in church saved at VBS rally. It just takes a God's help, a vision, and some hard work.
INTERNATIONAL EVANGELISM- It is no secret that Great Commision includes every nation tribe and tongue, this why God has so burdened my heart to not only reach the youth here in the states but across the world. All the rally's, campaigns, and camps are repeated the same way just done overseas.
CAMPS- Probably nearest to my heart is that of camp work. Camp is where the greatest decisions of my life were made and preaching at camp is definitely one of my loves. God has opened doors to speak at camps across the country especially through the summer months and it is truly an honor and privilege.
YOUTH CAMPAIGNS- Whether it be a weekend or a week God has used these mightily to stir the saved young people to spiritual usefulness and as well has been used as an evangelistic tool. One campaign in particular comes to mind of a church that was a little unsure about the newness of a weekend rally well they had one, and after 21 people were saved in three days they became convinced God can use them!
REVIVIALS- I preface all my words by saying, "I still believe in Revival!" God can if we are willing. Whether it be for adults, teens, or children God has given a heartfelt passion not just to have meetings but let God meet with His saints to do something in their hearts. Revival is not just a set of meetings in the spring and fall, its something that we must beg and ask God for. God has also burdened my heart with challenging Christians schools to having "Back to School Revivals' it gets the school started off right, with a renewed focus on where it should be.
YOUTH CONFERNCES- Spread across the country teens gather together to be challenged by the Word of God. In these conferences its not sufficient to just have a good time. If we were in for them just having a good time, I would purchase them a PS3 or some other gaming system. But its the goal to show them a good time but have their heart changed and challenged by the Word of God.
VISION PLANNING- Many have no idea what to do or say to their teenagers and kids of their church, they basically are clueless to what their needs may be. The intentions are there to see them do right but not sure how to go about it. This is special something that God has laid upon my heart. I would love to sit down and talk with any pastor that has a true burden for his young people and talk over what they are like, things they are used to, etc.. and give me your vision to what you want to see in your young people. I cannot promise God's working hand, but I will say that the ones who have earnestly sought the Lord, who have worked, and expeneded the resources necessary have seen God do amazing things in their young people.
JUVENILE DETENTION CENTERS- The troubled young man or woman seems to be forgotten and neglected, many have thrown up their hands in disgust to them and many have no purpose for living. Obviously we know otherwise, and if there is a detention nearby that you have a burden for, by God's grace lets contact the local authorities for permission and watch God do a work!
This is not a job for me, this is my life and passion. I have been working with young people across the country since I was 19, and it is my desire to invest my life into this generation whether old or young.
